Directions for Blog Post:

Write a paragraph about your achievements this semester and your goals for next semester (or, if you are completing the program, your future goals for your career or academic studies).

You may wish to include the following topics:
- What was the biggest accomplishment for you?  Why?
-  What was the largest obstacle you overcame?  How did you do it?
- What did you enjoy most about the program?
- What were the activities (in and out of class) that enhanced your learning the most?
- What are your academic and/or career plans following your time at the ALI?  Where do you plan to study?
- If you plan to continue at Nazareth College ALI, what are some of your major goals and objectives for next semester?
- What are your future career goals, and how do you feel your experience in the United States will help you?





Directions for Descriptive Paragraph:
Using the clustering chart created in class today (Khalid - see page 35) write your paragraph about your special place.  Be sure to use specific and descriptive language in your writing, so that the reader can see, feel, smell, taste, and/or hear the places or events you are describing.  See the example on page 38 of "Rogerio's Final Draft" for an example of what is expected.
Remember the following:
- use correct paragraph form and include a title\
- be sure your topic sentence has a topic and controlling idea(s)
- use transitions in your writing
- type your paper and email it to me prior to the due date or bring it to class already printed
- double space your paper

We will be peer editing the paragraphs in class on Tuesday, December 13th.  Final copies will be due on Thursday, December 15th, prior to class.  This deadline is firm;  there will be no extensions for this project.

Write the final draft of your paragraph with all the edits discussed in class today.  Use the editing worksheet provided in class today to do a final read over (aloud) and edit before submitting your work.

Complete the 3rd revision of your paragraph, adding in the "development" for each of your Major Supporting Points (MSPs), as practiced in class today.  Check your paragraph for the following:  correct paragraph form, clear topic sentence, transition points to introduce MSPs, development and explanation that "paints a picture" or "makes it real" for your reader.
Your paper should be typed, double-spaced, and emailed to me prior to class (or handed in to me on Thursday).

Complete the 2nd draft of your paragraph about your "achievement." Check that you have used transitions between the steps.  Add "development" sentences to your steps, as you did in exercise 11.

BLOG Assignment:  Write about the differences in the educational system between the United States and your country.  Use the vocabulary words from your new chapter about education in “Culturally Speaking.”   Write your reflection in the present tense, as you are describing the current state of education in both countries.
